Mermay: steampunk

Lightning flashed through the sky, striking the rod erected near the center mast of the ship. The vessel shook as the lightning traveled down, catching along the many cords laced across the ship as the disrupted currents hit the secondary engine, pushing them forward. 11:33 p.m.

I’m just now realizing that while I was visiting my folks back home I missed my chance to bring back my copies of Trickster’s Choice and Trickster’s Queen. Which you think after debating about buying new copies for almost two years I would have remembered to grab them.

Wrong.

So unless I have them shipped to me or I just break down and buy new copies, I’m back to playing the waiting game.

1:24 p.m.

Finished “the witch doesn’t burn in this one” by Amanda Lovelace, my first book of 2018. It seems pretty late since it’s almost May but after being in a reading rut for several months, reading any book all the way through feels amazing. I’ll probably finish up Binti next since it’s a shorter book that fits my current schedule. (The third book is also out so I can binge read the trilogy!)

I have a writing deadline near the end of May that I want to reach so figuring out a good amount of time to read and still be productive is my main focus.

Honestly, I’m feeling good about the whole thing.

Book Haul

New year, new books! And not so new books after a quick trip to Barnes & Nobles to grab a few books before coupons expired. With so many great titles coming out this year, I’ll have more than enough reading material to get me by until the next release. So here’s a look at my mini haul and what I’ll be adding to my personal library.
